COURSE OVERVIEW

Participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience through applications and case studies related to logging techniques in oil reservoirs. The course addresses a wide range of technical challenges and demonstrates how improved decision-making can be achieved through effective formation evaluation. In addition, the course provides participants with knowledge and practical insight into international public reporting standards for mining projects, including mineral resource and mineral reserve estimation, as well as the responsibilities of the Competent Person. It examines the influence of key factors such as data quality, quality control systems, environmental and social studies, metallurgical testing, and drilling spacing on resource classification and investment potential. The course covers the most widely recognized reporting codes, including JORC and NI 43-101, and provides an overview of other international reporting formats accepted by major stock exchanges.

INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Yulia Cherepanova

Dr. Yulia Cherepanova is a geologist and mining specialist with over 10 years of technical, scientific research and business development experience in leading international mining and oil/gas service and  consulting companies. Having started out as a diamond exploration geologist (Russia), Yulia subsequently worked in seismic exploration in Schlumberger (Egypt) in its quality control department, and in academia where she was awarded a PhD degree in geoscience (Denmark), and in a prominent mining consultancy (UK) providing international business development, project appraisals, quality control and technical due diligence to clients. Yulia defended the PhD and published the scientific articles on the crustal structure of the West Siberian basin and the Siberian craton. Yulia is knowledgeable about quality control, exploration, technical risks and pitfalls of complex mining projects.
