Completion And Production Engineering (DRL 321)

COURSE OVERVIEW

This five-day comprehensive course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills in well test analysis and interpretation for petroleum engineers. It covers key concepts, methodologies, and advanced techniques required to evaluate well performance, determine reservoir properties, and optimize production. The course combines theoretical instruction with hands-on exercises, enabling participants to interpret real-world well test data and apply their knowledge to complex reservoir scenarios.

Well completion design concepts and the technical selection criteria for major completion components are reviewed in detail. The final two days focus on the flow behavior of completed wells and the key parameters affecting well performance and productivity. Group exercises on completion design and well performance analysis are incorporated to reinforce learning and promote practical application.

The course also presents the operator’s perspective on well completion and production management, providing participants with a broader understanding of technical, operational, and economic considerations.
