COURSE OVERVIEW
PetroTeach offers a course on the Fundamental Concepts of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). The program addresses the engineering principles and design considerations associated with various EOR methods, including both water-based and gas-based techniques. Participants will learn about the different EOR processes, their fundamental concepts, field applications, and operational challenges. The course focuses primarily on reservoir engineering aspects, including screening criteria and feasibility evaluation for selecting appropriate EOR methods.
Water-based EOR techniques—such as chemical flooding, polymer flooding, and microbial EOR—are discussed in detail, along with gas-based methods including miscible and immiscible gas injection. Special attention is given to thermal EOR processes, including steam injection, Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS), and Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD).
Through a combination of theory and practical examples, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of EOR strategies and their role in maximizing oil recovery.
