COURSE OVERVIEW

The course emphasizes the importance of sound reservoir management principles, highlighting the value of multidisciplinary collaboration and team synergy in making effective technical and operational decisions.

It covers key surveillance and performance monitoring techniques used to optimize waterflood projects, including Hall plot analysis, Voidage Replacement Ratio (VRR) calculations, pattern balancing and realignment, volumetric sweep efficiency assessment, production logging, injectivity challenges and solutions, and conformance improvement methods. Numerous case studies from different regions of the world are reviewed to demonstrate practical approaches to monitoring and optimizing waterflood performance.

In addition, add-on recovery schemes such as polymer flooding and gas injection are discussed as strategies to further enhance oil recovery. Class problems and group exercises are incorporated to reinforce the technical concepts presented. Participants will receive a detailed, full-color course manual that serves as a comprehensive and practical reference.
