INSTRUCTOR

Instructor is a Subject Matter Expert in Well Integrity during the Operate phase, with over 45 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has worked with leading operators and regulators worldwide to advance well integrity understanding and practices.

As Head of Well Integrity at Tullow Oil, he pioneered the development and implementation of a comprehensive Well Integrity Management System (WIMS), including supporting documentation and training for a diverse portfolio of wells and operating environments. This work led to the publication of the SPE paper “Seven Pillars of Well Integrity” (SPE-142449-MS). He has since developed additional WIMS frameworks for various oil companies, along with associated training programs.

He was also a co-author of ISO 16530, the first international standard covering well integrity across the well lifecycle. An accredited trainer, he delivers well integrity courses globally. In 2021, he was appointed SPE Distinguished Lecturer—an honor uniquely extended for a second term (2023–2024)—during which he conducted extensive lecture tours across the USA, China, Borneo, Australia, and New Zealand.

The course is designed to be highly interactive, and using high resolution graphics, 2D models, Video clips and a wide range of slides, attendees will be encouraged to ask questions and participate in the modules. Participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire prior to starting the course so the instructor can adapt the course to the issues identified.
