COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides participants with comprehensive knowledge of CCUS and its practical applications. It is field case–based and covers key elements such as project introduction, economic evaluation, site selection, risk assessment, and the design of Measurement, Monitoring, and Verification (MMV) programs. Participants will learn how to objectively evaluate CCUS projects, both independently of simulation models and by critically assessing feasibility-phase simulation studies.
In addition, participants will gain a clearly explained, business-focused perspective on clean hydrogen project best practices. Delivered through three information-rich online sessions, this part of the course provides a solid foundation in applying structured project development methodologies to hydrogen initiatives.
Project best practices are illustrated through practical examples and structured around key themes:
Project Shaping – selecting the right project concept and strategic positioning
Front-End Planning – establishing the framework to execute the project effectively
Hydrogen Project Characteristics – including technology development, supply chain and infrastructure requirements, commercial offtake agreements, political and regulatory support, and financing considerations
Hydrogen Project Case Studies – including industrial clusters/valleys, refining applications, petrochemicals and ammonia production, and steel sector decarbonization
By the end of the course, participants will have both a technical and commercial understanding of CCUS and hydrogen project development, enabling more informed strategic and investment decisions.
