Wireline logging operations are critical to successful subsurface evaluation and require strong coordination, clear responsibilities, and effective risk management. A structured understanding of the planning and execution process, along with awareness of potential risks, is essential to ensure safe operations, high-quality data acquisition, and optimal project outcomes. This course deals with developing a comprehensive understanding of roles and responsibilities within the Wireline Logging Planning & Execution and Wireline Deployment Risk Management processes. It provides detailed insight into team functions, as well as the key inputs and outputs of each activity, while highlighting critical steps and their impact on operational performance and data quality. The course also exposes participants to real-life examples of safety, operational, and data-related incidents, including their root causes and potential consequences, to strengthen risk awareness and mitigation capabilities. It should be noted that the use of force modelling software for designing and optimizing wireline logging operations is not covered, as this is addressed in the separate Wireline Job Design Based on Forces Simulations training program.

Instructor is an electrical engineer and global energy professional with over 40 years of experience in wireline services, operations, and technology leadership. He began his career in Venezuela and gained international experience across Argentina, the UAE, Italy, Norway, and Houston, developing strong expertise in wireline systems and field operations.
He held senior leadership roles at Baker Hughes, managing global operations, product lines, and training initiatives, and contributing to the development and commercialization of advanced wireline technologies.
He later led the implementation of a global 24/7 technical support organization, strengthening remote capabilities and operational performance. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to innovation, operational excellence, and mentoring, and is actively engaged with professional industry organizations.
This course is intended for personnel of E&P and Service companies responsible for leading the execution of key activities of the Wireline Logging and Intervention Operations Planning & Execution process.
