COURSE OVERVIEW

This is a 3-day course designed to provide participants with a broad understanding of the refinery business. The course begins with an introduction of the global energy demand, crude oil types and products, and the refinery units. Afterward, we explore the refinery economics, refinery planning, environmental regulations and hydrocarbon mass balances and loss calculations. The last day of the course concentrates on several topics such as the oil-chemicals interface, performance monitoring, quality & assurance, and future trends. This course is highly interactive and open to discussing participants’ topicss.

This course provides participants with a comprehensive knowledge of the refinery configuration and economics and their application in margin optimization. The course presents a global perception of the refinery as a business. Participants will learn basic technical information on refining processes, the place of the refinery in the value chain, oil-chemicals integration and future trends. Moreover, planning and optimization of the refinery margin is extensively discussed including 40 tangible tips for performance and cost improvement. This course is highly interactive and open to discussing participating topics.
