COURSE OVERVIEW
The course provides participants with a practical view of the concepts and principles used to develop designs and functionality for the key subsea hardware typical of subsea systems; designs for subsea equipment including wellheads, trees, manifolds, and valves; design selection, standards, and functionality.
This is a 4-day course designed to provide participants with a complete understanding of subsea hardware design including wellheads, subsea trees, manifolds and subsea structures, valves, and jumper systems. Included is the overview of subsea systems and the hardware that make up these systems. Participants will learn how to select the best equipment configuration, the applicable industry design standards and who supplies the equipment. In Day 1, course participants will learn about subsea system architecture and how subsea hardware makes up this architecture. Participants will also learn the fundamentals of drilling and completing a subsea well. Manufacturers of subsea hardware will be identified and discussed. In Day 2, participants will learn about key subsea hardware designs such as wellheads, subsea trees, subsea manifolds, other subsea structures, subsea jumpers and connection systems. In Day 3, participants will learn about subsea valves and valve actuators, subsea equipment piping systems, ROVs and ROV interfaces. On Day 4, participants will learn about subsea structure foundations, installation site characterization, subsea pumping, systems engineering and skillsets that can apply to all offshore energy developments. Quizzes at the end of each day will measure learning progress.
