COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides participants with a current view of energy sources available that can provide a reliable supply. The student will also learn what the current status is for the transition to non-carbon-based energy and the trends in growth of each supply source. Included in the learnings are the technical and economic challenges for each energy source and what will be needed to progress these sourced to supplant carbon-based energy.
This is a 4-day course designed to provide participants with an up-to-date view of the current status of the on-going transition from fossil fuel-based energy to non-fossil fuel energy. In this course student will Learn:
o Current energy supplies are predominantly fossil fuel-based production.
o Concerns about pollution and global warning have focused attention on fossil fuels and their role in these problems.
o About the move to energy sources that are cleaner, renewable and that can replace fossil fuel energy.
o What current energy sources are available that can provide reliable supply.
o What the current status is for transition to non-fossil fuel-based energy and the trends in growth of each supply source.
o The technical and economic challenges for each energy source and what will be needed to progress these sources to supplant fossil fuel energy.
