COURSE OVERVIEW

This course provides comprehensive knowledge of Subsea Engineering and its application throughout the life of subsea fields. It covers subsea production systems from reservoir to production facility, including field planning, equipment, umbilicals and controls, flowlines, risers, flow assurance, materials, corrosion, and well operations. Participants will also explore practical industry challenges, economics, risks, design considerations, production operations, and integrity-critical maintenance.

This 5-day course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the design and operation of deepwater oil and gas production systems in shallow, deepwater, and ultra-deepwater environments. The course begins with reservoir and fluid characterization, well construction, and drilling processes. It then covers subsea field development planning and architecture, flow assurance and solids management, thermal hydraulic analysis and operability, and design of deepwater risers and flowlines.

The course also addresses key subsea equipment, including wellheads, BOPs, trees, valves, manifolds and connectors, along with materials selection, corrosion, subsea controls, umbilicals, flying leads, and distribution systems. The final part focuses on subsea control systems, well start-up and shut-in operations, subsea well integrity, including a case study on engineering judgment for well control during deepwater drilling.
