COURSE OVERVIEW

This course covers the key subjects required to understand the structural mechanics of downhole tubulars. Topics include material properties, connection selection, performance characteristics, load cases, design factors, and buckling behavior. The course is designed to focus on the fundamentals, guiding participants through the main drivers behind casing design for exploration, appraisal, and development wells, along with the associated risks, challenges, and mitigation strategies.

The program introduces manufacturing techniques, specifications, loading conditions, design methodologies, and common casing string problems. It helps participants develop a clear understanding of casing design principles and practical applications in oilfield tubular engineering. Both uniform and non-uniform loading scenarios are covered, including combined loading conditions. Design procedures are explained in detail and reinforced through worked examples and practical exercises.

The course also addresses tubular design considerations for corrosive environments as an additional specialized topic. Through multiple case examples from both onshore and offshore wells, participants gain practical insight and maximize the benefits of the training.
