COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed as a transfer of tacit knowledge and practical experience to support engineers in fulfilling their daily technical responsibilities. It draws on approximately 15 years of experience across both onshore and offshore fields, helping participants strengthen their capabilities in reservoir monitoring and management.
Accurate Equation of State (EOS) modeling and fluid characterization are essential for reliable simulation of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) processes, depletion of near-critical fluid systems, and reservoirs exhibiting significant fluid heterogeneity. This course provides a comprehensive, step-by-step approach to EOS development, covering all key aspects of PVT analysis and fluid characterization studies.
By the end of the program, engineers will have developed a strong understanding of PVT modeling techniques and the behavior of petroleum mixtures under various reservoir conditions. Participants will also benefit from continued instructor support for related technical questions and practical applications during and after the course.

INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Mohammad Ghasemi
Dr. Mohammad Ghasemi has approximately 15 years of experience across a wide range of petroleum reservoir engineering projects. His recent research at Kuwait University includes the development of flow pattern maps for two-phase flow in heavy oil systems and integrated modeling of asphaltene deposition in vertical wells. He has worked as a Senior Reservoir Engineer at Petrostreamz and as a Reservoir Engineer at NISOC and PERA, contributing to diverse reservoir engineering studies and field development projects.
He has taught and assisted in several petroleum engineering courses, including gas injection EOR, advanced PVT, fluid development, and production engineering.
He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Petroleum Technology (PUT). He also holds a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Petroleum Reservoir Engineering from the University of Calgary and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), respectively.
