COURSE OVERVIEW

PetroTeach offers a five-day course in Deepwater Drilling Operations. The course approaches well construction as an integrated design process and is specifically developed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges associated with the design and construction of deepwater wells. The program covers the theory, technical considerations, and practical aspects of designing, drilling, and completing deepwater wells, supported by real case examples and practical exercises. It begins with an overview of the history and evolution of deepwater drilling, followed by a review of the geological aspects and associated operational challenges. After establishing the fundamentals, the course progresses to detailed deepwater well design considerations. It then addresses the preparations required for drilling deepwater wells, including metocean conditions, rig selection, station keeping, and other key operational challenges unique to deepwater environments.
