COURSE OVERVIEW
In addressing FPSO design and operation, this course guides delegates through the key steps, disciplines, and decision-making processes required to successfully deliver an FPSO project. It is designed to provide participants with solid competency in FPSO design principles and key technical and commercial considerations.
The course covers both commercial and technical aspects of FPSO development based on first-principles engineering. It aims to provide a strong foundation across the major elements of an FPSO project while offering the context and framework necessary to formulate the right technical and strategic questions. Lessons learned from past FPSO projects are integrated throughout the program.
Participants are taken step by step through critical considerations in FPSO projects, including commercial drivers, overall field layout, site-specific metocean data, hull design, marine systems, topside configuration, station-keeping, mooring and riser systems, and offloading solutions. The course also provides an overview of key operational aspects associated with FPSO facilities.

INSTRUCTOR
Instructor Profile
Instructor received his BEng., MSc. degrees in Naval Architecture and PhD. in Hydrodynamics of Floating Structures from Newcastle University, UK. During his career he has held Lead Naval Architectural positions in Lloyds Register, BG, Premier Oil and Equinor (former Statoil). As the Floating Structures Team Leader for Lloyds Register in the UK, he was a contributing author to the “Lloyds Register Rules and Regulation for Floating Offshore Installations at a Fixed Location” and represented Lloyds Register in Joint Industry Projects (JIPs). During his professional career he has worked on several offshore oil and gas field developments, in UK, Norway, Brazil, Australia and Timor Sea. He has been lecturing about floating structures since obtaining his master’s degree in 2004 and has taught numerous courses at all levels including MSc students and developed training courses.
