COURSE OVERVIEW
This five-day course provides a comprehensive understanding of gas lift optimization, covering nodal analysis, gas lift well design and redesign, troubleshooting, and the selection of the optimal gas lift valve type, injection depth, and gas injection rate to achieve the best possible well performance.
The course begins with the fundamental principles and practical “rules of thumb” of gas lift operations, explaining how gas lift systems function in different well conditions. Detailed discussions include smart gas lift technologies and smart orifice valves, as well as the balance-of-forces principle governing valve opening and closing.
Participants will perform manual gas lift design using graphical methods, ensuring a deep understanding of system behavior and optimization techniques. Through hands-on calculations and exercises, attendees will gain practical insight into how gas lift wells operate and how to enhance their performance.
Additional topics include unloading procedures, production monitoring, troubleshooting techniques, gas lift insert strings, gas lift pack-off systems, velocity strings, and operational aspects such as gas lift shop work and system management. By the end of the course, participants will be well-equipped to design, evaluate, and optimize gas lift systems effectively.
