COURSE OVERVIEW

This 5-day training course focuses on carbonate sedimentology, diagenesis, and reservoir characterization, and how these elements are integrated into a static reservoir model. Emphasis is placed on the interpretation and handling of geological data as model input, rather than on the IT-based technical construction of the model itself. Reservoir characterization provides critical insight into the three-dimensional distribution and realization of reservoir heterogeneity and petrophysical properties. This information forms essential input to both static and dynamic reservoir models and is crucial for understanding fluid flow behavior during production. The objective of the course is to enable participants to deliver high-quality sedimentological input data to geo-modelers. These inputs include the spatial distribution of sedimentary and diagenetic facies, porosity, permeability, and MICP-based saturation heights.
