COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides participants with a practical view of subsea umbilical and production controls systems design from field concept selection through installation and offshore acceptance testing; design concepts, design principles, system operation, and challenges related to subsea production control and umbilical systems for offshore installations of both oil & gas and offshore wind industries.
This is a 4-day course designed to provide participants with a complete understanding of Subsea Umbilical and Control System Design. Included is the overview of subsea systems, overview of subsea control systems and umbilicals, System analyses, design of key components such as hydraulic power units, master control stations and subsea control modules. In Day 1, course participants will learn about subsea systems and how subsea control systems are integrated. Also, in Day 1 participants will learn about subsea umbilicals and their distribution system. In Day 2, participants will learn about the analyses used to define the system design and performance expectations. In Day 3, participants will learn about subsea components and their integration with topsides equipment as well as safety systems provided by subsea controls. On Day 4, participants will learn about other critical subsea system controls and subsea instrumentation use to monitor subsea system operation. Quizzes at the end of each day will measure learning progress.
